Role Profile

This role would support three main areas of focus within the Marketing and Communications team overall:

  • Marketing Focus – participate in the development of program and promotional materials, and the execution of marketing campaigns and events.
  • Digital Focus – support web development, updates, and social media campaigns, including monitoring March of Dimes Canada’s (MODC) presence on social media sites.
  • Communications Focus – support the development of strategic and community-focused communication materials, including program- and service-related products, press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and donor stewardship campaigns.

Living experience as a person with a disability is a strong asset for this role.



  • Assisting the team in planning and executing marketing and promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct marketing, and web).
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of communications products such as media advisories and newsletters, as well as the development of key messages
  • Helping to distribute marketing materials, including branded items.
  • Completing clerical and administrative duties.
  • Performing analysis on data from marketing campaigns.
  • Providing insights through research conclusions drawn from data analysis.
  • Contributing fresh ideas and content.
  • Handling inbound requests.



·       Currently completing or recently completed a marketing and/or communications focused Bachelors degree or college program

·       Exceptional communication skills and writing skills

·       Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills

·       Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

·       Ability to work in a team or independently

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Salary:  $17.55 per hour

  • This position is subject to the approval and funding of our application to the Canada Summer Job program.

  • To be considered for the 2024 Canada Summer Job program at MODC, please confirm you meet the eligibility criteria below as outlined by Service Canada:

o   be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.

o   be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.

o   have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

o   Note: International students are not eligible participants.

  •       This position will have a hybrid work arrangement, with a combination of working remotely and in-person at our National Office in 885 Don Mills Road, Toronto
