Paving the Path to Work

Are you curious about the world of work? Or maybe you’re thinking about how your skills match up to opportunities in employment or volunteering?

Join us for a free, interactive and educational 6-week program that covers relevant and current topics needed to consider before looking for work. 

​Paving the Path to Work is available in person in Hamilton, London, Niagara Region, Peel Region, and Toronto. There is no fee to participate!

Virtual offering across Canada starting February 2025!  Wherever you live, you can participate in our virtual classroom.

Here’s what you can expect as a Paving the Path to Work participant:

  • Building Confidence: Helping participants overcome self-doubt and develop a positive mindset toward pursuing work or further training. 
  • Basic Skill Development: Focusing on essential skills like communication, time management, and self-discipline. 
  • Workplace Familiarity: Introducing participants to workplace norms, expectations, and soft skills needed for collaboration and success. 
  • Identifying Strengths and Goals: Assisting individuals in recognizing their abilities and setting goals for taking the next steps in their journey
  • Addressing Barriers: Offering support in areas like digital skills and personal challenges that may hinder job readiness. 
  • Creating a Pathway: Preparing participants to transition smoothly into more advanced pre-employment programs or directly into entry-level roles for employment and/or volunteerism.
